Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources and two years of related experience preferred. Applicants with an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. · Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information. · Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and high level problem solving strategies. · Excellent person to person communication and possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all District stakeholders. · Experience with onboarding, payroll processing and knowledge of labor law preferred. · Excellent attendance record. · Ability to prioritize and direct work flow and produce high quality work in a demanding environment. · Proficient with computer applications in Microsoft Office Suite Programs required. Experience with school related technology such as AS-400, AESOP, Kronos and PowerSchool preferred. · Prior K-12 Human Resources experience. · Proficiency tests will be required.
Description:
This Human Resources Generalist position is responsible for performing a variety of HR-related duties in a high paced professional environment and works closely with senior management in supporting the goals and vision of the District. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, onboarding, policy/collective bargaining agreement (CBA) administration, payroll functions and legal compliance. Duties include but not limited to:
· Perform new employee onboarding, orientation, background screening and processing. · Process employee change actions upon new hire, resignation, staffing changes, etc. · Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements. · Employee benefits management related to enrollment and termination, troubleshooting employee benefits issues, and the customer service aspect of benefits oversight. · Assist with annual benefits open enrollment process.
· Ensure compliance with State and Federal guidelines including preparation and submittal of applicable reports.
· Oversee Worker’s Compensation and OSHA/MIOSHA compliance and administration.
· Prepares and documents responses to legal inquiries (i.e., EEOC, OSHA/MIOSHA complaints and Worker’s Compensation claims).
· Process unemployment claims and assist employees with questions concerning unemployment claims.
· Develop, review and process Human Resource reports and business correspondence. · Perform daily tasks in accordance with Board of Education policies and District rules/regulations. · Maintain a high level of customer service while processing express concerns, communicating with stakeholders and supporting staff. · Perform other duties as assigned. |
